THE FIRST ANNUAL MISTER AFRICA USA PAGEANT 2013
The mission of the Mister Africa Pageant USA is to empower young African Men in America, while embracing their African Beauty and Heritage. The pageant will provide the platform for young African male leaders to serve humanity and empower communities in Africa, USA and around the world. As Goodwill Ambassadors these young men will be the new generation of change. The Mister Africa Pageant will showcase the talents and abilities of African men. It will instill pride and confidence in the African experience. Contestants will compete for the title of Mr. Africa USA!
Founder Bertini Heumegni has dedicated himself to supporting African men in the US that have excelled and have made a difference in their community. African men's accomplishments are not often celebrated in a constructive manner that will encourage men to do more. Mr. Heumegni came to the United States to spread his wings becoming a sought after professional model, an accomplished actor, and a budding entrepreneur. He also co-founded The Fabo Foundation for the Deaf, an organization that supports deaf young people in Africa.
The purpose of the Mister Africa Pageant is to celebrate the accomplishments of African men living in the United States. The young African males living in the United States have many opportunities and ways to give back which many have chosen to do, out of the goodness for their heart and spirit. This is something that should be recognized and encouraged. Competing contestants for the title of Mr. Africa must have participated and worked to give back in the community; acceptance to compete will be based on their dedication to serving the community. It is the vision of the pageant to encourage all African men to set up and give back. It will represent the importance of helping the community and being a positive man. Participants will be role models for all young men around the world.
Contestants of the Mister Africa Pageant will compete in the categories of Leadership, Empowerment, Cultural Expression and Beach Boy (swim suit). The pageant will focus on what is in the mind and hearts of the contestants. There is no other pageant like it – straying away from “traditional” pageants that focus on outer beauty. This pageant will be a platform for change in the world and empower young men to do more for their community. Just as its founder Bertini Heumegni has overcome life challenges, made a name for himself and has dedicated himself to an important cause, all men should be encouraged to do the same. Giving back is the ultimate testament of appreciation for success in life and the Mister Africa Pageant is the perfect way to showcase the success of men such as Fabo and Bertini Heumegni.
The winners of the Mister Africa Pageant will receive trips and opportunities to support their favorite causes. The first place and winner of the Mr. Africa title will receive a trip to Africa, the runner up with receive a trip to anywhere in USA and the first runner up will receive a cash prize of $200. The pageant will showcase and appreciate positive men! It will feature live performances, music and African culture.
